If you cook with cannabis that has not been decarboxylated, you will likely not feel the typical effects of getting high. This is because the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), exists in its non-psychoactive acidic form, tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA), in raw cannabis. THCA needs to undergo decarboxylation to become psychoactive THC.
