🍫 Terpenes & Flavor Profiles: The dark chocolate provides a rich, bittersweet base that is balanced by the earthy CBD oil. The ashwagandha brings a slightly bitter yet grounding flavor, while the maca adds a nutty, malty flavor. The toasted almonds and walnuts contribute a roasted, crunchy texture, and the goji berries introduce a subtle sweetness with a slight tartness. The coconut flakes offer a tropical, slightly sweet flavor and texture. The sea salt enhances all these flavors by adding a touch of savory contrast.
🍫 Bodily System Help: This bark offers a powerful combination of stress relief and energy through the adaptogens (ashwagandha and maca) and CBD. It supports the nervous system by reducing stress and improving mood, while the omega-3 fatty acids in the nuts and fiber in the chia seeds benefit the digestive system. The dark chocolate provides antioxidants that support overall health and well-being. It’s an excellent treat for balancing energy and relaxation.

Instructions

🍫 Prepare the Toppings

  • Roughly chop the almonds and walnuts, then toast them lightly in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes to bring out their flavor.
  • Allow them to cool before adding them to the chocolate.
  • If you’re using goji berries, chia seeds, and coconut flakes, prepare them by measuring out the amounts needed.

🍫 Prepare the Chocolate

  • In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips over a double boiler or in the microwave (heat in 30-second intervals, stirring each time to prevent burning).

🍫 Add CBD Oil

  • Once the chocolate is fully melted and smooth, stir in CBD oil. Mix thoroughly to ensure the CBD is evenly distributed throughout the chocolate.

🍫 Add Adaptogens

  • Stir in the ashwagandha powder and maca powder.
  • Make sure these adaptogens are evenly incorporated into the melted chocolate mixture.

🍫 Assemble the Bark

  • Line a baking sheet or tray with parchment paper.
  • Pour the melted chocolate mixture onto the parchment paper and spread it out evenly to about 1/4 inch thick using a spatula.
  • Sprinkle the toasted nuts, goji berries, chia seeds, and coconut flakes over the melted chocolate.
  • Lightly press them down to ensure they stick.

🍫 Cool and Set

  • Place the tray in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours to allow the chocolate bark to fully set and harden.
  • Once set, break the chocolate bark into uneven pieces by hand or use a sharp knife to cut it into smaller chunks.

🍫 Serve and Store

  • Store the CBD chocolate nut bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Betsy's Infusion Notes:

🍫 Adjusting CBD Dosage: You can adjust the amount of CBD oil based on the strength of the oil and your personal preference. Start with a lower amount and increase as needed.
🍫 Sweetness: The dark chocolate is rich and bittersweet, but if you prefer a sweeter bark, you can add a teaspoon of maple syrup or agave syrup to the melted chocolate before adding the CBD oil.
🍫 Nut Choices: Feel free to customize the nuts based on your preference. Pistachios or hazelnuts also work well with dark chocolate.
🍫 Storage: Keep the chocolate bark in the refrigerator to maintain its firmness and freshness. It will stay good for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container.
🍫 Flavor Variations: Experiment with different herbs or spices, like cinnamon, turmeric, or vanilla, for unique flavor profiles.
