Equipment

  • Small mixing bowl
  • Spoon or Spatula
  • Blender or Food Processor (if grinding oats)
  • Towel or face cloth

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Raw honey (preferably organic, known for its moisturizing and antibacterial properties)
  • 2 tbsp Ground oatmeal (ground finely to create a smooth paste and offer gentle exfoliation)
  • 1 tbsp Yogurt (or aloe vera gel if you prefer a non-dairy option, for soothing and hydrating the skin)
  • ½ tsp Coconut oil (optional, for extra hydration)
  • 1 drop Lavender essential oil (optional, for added relaxation and anti-inflammatory properties)

Instructions

Prepare the Oatmeal

  • If you’re using whole oats, grind them in a food processor or blender until you have a fine powder. This helps the mask smooth out and avoids any rough texture.

Mix the Ingredients

  • In a small mixing bowl, combine the 1 tablespoon of honey, 2 tablespoons of ground oatmeal, and 1 tablespoon of yogurt (or aloe vera).
  • Stir together until the mixture forms a thick, creamy paste. The oatmeal provides gentle exfoliation, while the honey moisturizes and heals the skin.

Add Optional Ingredients

  • Add 1/2 teaspoon of coconut oil for extra moisturizing benefits. Stir it into the mixture. If you’re using lavender essential oil, add just 1 drop for its soothing and calming properties.

Apply the Mask

  • Cleanse your face before applying the mask. Using clean fingers or a brush, apply a generous amount of the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area.
  • Leave the mask on for about 10-15 minutes.

Rinse Off

  • After the mask has set, rinse it off with lukewarm water. Gently massage your face in circular motions while rinsing to enhance the exfoliating effects of the oatmeal.
  • Pat your face dry with a soft towel, and follow up with your regular moisturizer.

Betsy's Infusion Notes:

😶‍🌫️ Customizing the Mask: If you have sensitive skin, skip the lavender essential oil and use aloe vera instead of yogurt to keep it gentle. For a richer texture, you can increase the amount of coconut oil.
😶‍🌫️ Storage Tips: Since this is a fresh face mask, it should be used immediately. If you have any leftover mixture, store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. However, it's best used fresh for optimal effects.
😶‍🌫️ For Added Exfoliation: You can gently scrub the mask off after it dries for a more intense exfoliating effect, particularly if you have flaky or dry skin.
This Honey and Oatmeal Face Mask is a nourishing, gentle treatment perfect for soothing dry, sensitive skin while providing a subtle exfoliation. The blend of honey, oatmeal, and yogurt moisturizes, calms, and revitalizes, leaving the skin soft and glowing. It's an easy, effective way to give your skin the spa treatment it deserves.
