⚠️ Caution: This recipe contains strong nervines and sedative herbs (e.g., wild lettuce, skullcap, CBN, kava). Avoid using this recipe before driving, operating machinery, or combining with alcohol.
These herbs may interact with prescribed pain medications (opioids, benzodiazepines, muscle relaxants, antidepressants, anticonvulsants, and sleep aids), potentially increasing sedation, impairing motor coordination, or leading to dangerous respiratory depression. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before using herbal sedatives alongside prescription or over-the-counter medications.
Cannabis-CBN: CBN is a cannabinoid known for its sedative properties. It is particularly useful for managing pain and insomnia, making it a great ally for people suffering from neuropathic pain. It helps promote muscle relaxation and reduces inflammation, easing nerve-related discomfort.
Wild Lettuce: Wild lettuce has mild sedative and analgesic properties, making it helpful for pain relief—especially related to the nervous system. It has a calming effect on the body and can also promote sleep.
🌱 Terpenes:
The terpenes in wild lettuce (such as caryophyllene and myrcene) contribute to its analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. CBN, derived from cannabis, has a distinct earthy and mildly spicy terpene profile that complements wild lettuce's soothing effects.

Equipment

  • Saucepan or small pot
  • Strainer or fine mesh
  • Mason jar or bottle
  • stirring spoon
  • Teaspoon
  • Tea infuser (optional, if using wild lettuce in loose form)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup filtered water
  • 1 tbsp dried wild lettuce (or 1 dropper full of wild lettuce tincture)
  • ½ tsp CBN cannabis tincture (adjust dosage based on desired strength)
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • ½ tsp lemon juice (optional, for added flavor)
  • ¼ tsp ginger root powder (optional, for digestive aid and anti-inflammatory support)

Instructions

Prepare the Wild Lettuce Infusion

  • Boil water in a saucepan or small pot. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the wild lettuce**.
  • If using dried wild lettuce, steep the leaves in the hot water for about 10 minutes to infuse the properties of the herb. If using tincture, skip to Step 3.

Combine with CBN Tincture

  • After the wild lettuce has steeped, strain the infusion through a fine mesh strainer or tea infuser to remove the plant material.
  • Stir in the CBN cannabis tincture (adjust to desired dosage based on individual needs).
  • Add honey or maple syrup for sweetness and lemon juice for a refreshing citrus flavor. Optionally, add ginger powder for additional anti-inflammatory support.

Mix and Store

  • Stir the tonic well to combine all ingredients thoroughly.
  • Pour the infusion into a mason jar or bottle for easy storage. Refrigerate the tonic for up to 3 days. Shake before serving.

Serve

  • For each serving, pour 1 ounce (about 30mL) of the tonic into a small shot glass. Drink it straight, or dilute with additional water if preferred.
