Instructions
Prepare Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine baking soda, citric acid, Epsom salt, and cornstarch. Stir well to ensure all the dry ingredients are evenly mixed.
Mix Wet Ingredients
In a separate small bowl, combine coconut oil (melted if solid), water, and essential oils (eucalyptus and lavender). Stir well to combine.
Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients
Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients while stirring continuously. Add a little bit at a time to prevent the citric acid from reacting prematurely with the baking soda. Mix thoroughly until you reach a texture similar to damp sand. The mixture should hold together when squeezed, but not be too wet.
Add Optional Ingredients
If you want to add some texture and a decorative touch, mix in dried lavender buds or eucalyptus leaves. These will add visual appeal and a slight texture to the bath bomb when it dissolves.
Mold the Bath Bombs
Fill your bath bomb molds tightly with the mixture, pressing it down to ensure it’s compact. You can use traditional round molds, or silicone molds for fun shapes. Leave a little extra mixture to ensure the bath bomb holds together.
Let Dry
Allow the bath bombs to sit and dry in the mold for 24-48 hours. Let them fully harden before removing them from the molds. This ensures they will not crumble when used.
Store and Use
Once dry, gently remove the bath bombs from the molds. Store them in an airtight container until you are ready to use them. To use, drop one bath bomb into a warm bath and enjoy the fizzing, relaxing experience.
Betsy's Infusion Notes:
🪻 Moisture Control: Be cautious when adding water to the mixture. If you add too much, the citric acid will start reacting, and your bath bombs won’t hold together. If the mixture is too dry, your bath bombs might crack. Add water little by little and test the consistency as you go.🪻 Essential Oil Adjustments: You can adjust the amount of essential oils based on your fragrance preference. If you prefer a stronger eucalyptus scent, you can add more of that essential oil.🪻 Drying Time: The bath bombs need adequate time to harden. If you try to remove them too soon, they might crumble. Ensure they are completely dry before use.🪻 Storage: Store bath bombs in a **cool, dry place** in an airtight container to prevent them from absorbing moisture and losing their fizzing ability. If possible, store them in the refrigerator for extra freshness. These Eucalyptus & Lavender Bath Bombs offer the ultimate relaxation experience, combining the refreshing properties of eucalyptus with the calming, soothing effects of lavender.
