Ingredients

  • a Portion Size of Decarbed Ground Cannabis Flower Toss-In per Potency Preference
  • 1 Cup Butter

Instructions

  • Use our Primary Staples Infusion Potency Calculator to determine how many grams of Cannabis Flower you want to use.
  • Weigh and measure the amount of Cannabis Flower you intend to use for this recipe on the digital kitchen scale.
  • Do not grind the flower. Break the flower buds to kernel sized pieces.
  • Place a clean dish towel at the bottom of your crockpot.
  • Add water in the bottom pan of your double broiler. Heat until boiling.
  • Melt butter and pour in mason jars. Betsy Bot likes to put a half cup of butter in pint size mason jars.
  • Add measured flower to the butter in the mason jars.
  • Place the lids on the mason jars and tighten jars to "finger tight". You don't want water getting into your butter flower mixture. Do not screw on the lids too tight either.
  • Carefully add the jars to the water bath. Watch for any bubbles that float to the surface as this will indicate one of the lids is not on tight enough. If that happens, remove the jar immediately to tighten the lid.
  • Bring the water temperature to about 180℉. You have a range of about 160℉ to 200℉. The sweet spot is about 180℉.
  • Place the lid on your slow cooker or crock pot and allow flower to steep in butter for four hours. Continue to maintain a consistent water temperature with either a cooking thermometer or digital temperature controls if your crock pot allows for that feature.
  • After four hours, remove the jars from the water bath with tongs.
  • Allow butter jars to cool enough for handling.
  • Once cool enough to work with, strain the butter into a clean jar, bowl or spout measuring cup.
  • To strain, you can use cheesecloth, a coffee filter or a French press.
  • Once strained, add the butter to portion sized silicone molds. Betsy Bot likes to use silicone ice cube trays that are 1 TBS per mold portion.
  • Place filled molds in freezer.
  • When fully frozen, individual frozen butter tablets can be removed from the trays and placed into to zip freezer bags.
  • Label zip freezer bag with the cannabis potency per TBS or whatever measurement unit you are using for the individual tablets.
  • Keep tablets in the freezer until ready to use.
  • Frozen tablets defrost faster than you think. When using tablets in recipes, work quickly or place tablets in a small bowl to defrost while preparing the rest of the other recipe as needed.

Betsy's Infusion Notes:

Infused Canna Butter tablets can be:
  1. Spread on a piece of toast (after defrosting of course).
  2. Added to any baking mixture that calls for butter.
  3. Used as a cream base for sauces such as alfredo sauce or creamy cheese sauce.
  4. Used as a dipping butter for vegetables and seafood. Remember DO NOT heat infused butter in the microwave. It will zap and kill all positive cannabinoid benefits.
  5. Anything else you use butter for in recipes!
