The combination of lavender and Epsom salts works synergistically to create a soothing, fragrant bath experience.
Bodily System Help: The lavender and Epsom salt bath soak is excellent for promoting muscle relaxation, reducing stress, and alleviating anxiety. The Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) helps ease muscle tension and improve circulation, while lavender calms the nervous system and helps with sleep. Ingredients

  • 2 cups Epsom salt for relaxation and muscle relief
  • 1 cup Sea salt for detoxification and relaxation
  • ½ cup Dried lavender buds for calming effects and soothing aroma
  • ¼ cup Baking soda to soften the water and soothe the skin
  • 15 drops Lavender essential oil for added fragrance and relaxation. Use 10 - 15 drops per preference
  • ¼ cup Carrier oil e.g., coconut oil, sweet almon oil, or jojoba oil, for skin moisture

Instructions

Mix Dry Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine Epsom salt, sea salt, baking soda, and dried lavender buds. Stir well to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Add Lavender Essential Oil

  • Add 10-15 drops of lavender essential oil to the mixture. Stir thoroughly to incorporate the oil throughout the bath soak mix.

Add Carrier Oil

  • Pour in 1/4 cup of carrier oil (coconut oil, jojoba, or sweet almond oil) to ensure the soak hydrates and softens the skin. Stir until well combined.

Package or Store

  • Once mixed, transfer the bath soak into a sealed jar or airtight container for storage. This can be kept for several weeks if stored properly in a cool, dry place.

To Use

  • Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of the bath soak mixture to your bathwater and stir well. Soak in the warm water for 15-30 minutes, allowing the Epsom salts and lavender to relax your muscles and soothe your mind.

Betsy's Infusion Notes:

  • Add-ins: You can also add other dried herbs like chamomile or rose petals for additional calming effects.
  • Essential Oils: If you want to mix it up, you can also use chamomile, ylang-ylang, or eucalyptus essential oils for their soothing and de-stressing properties.
  • Storage: Be sure to store the bath soak in a cool, dry place, away from humidity to prevent clumping or loss of fragrance.
  • Carrier Oil Alternatives: If you don't want to use an oil, you can omit the carrier oil and increase the amount of sea salt or baking soda for an alternative soothing experience.
This Lavender and Epsom Salt Bath Soak is a perfect addition to your self-care routine, offering relaxation, soothing relief for sore muscles, and stress reduction. It can help calm your mind after a long day and soften your skin.
